SCHOOL’S PROGRAMME

The School’s Programme is a daytime course delivered under the course title “Basic Motor Maintenance and Personal Development programme”. The course is designed as an ‘interest’ provision for a wide range of learners, particularly, young people who have an interest developing their key skills and careers, servicing motor vehicle systems. These learners will work towards formal qualifications accredited by City and Guilds. It is anticipated that successful learners will acquire the requisite basic skills that support respective criteria for pursuing further qualifications in the auto industry, apprenticeships or similar engineering pathways. 



 Basic Motor Maintenance The programme covers a  of automotive related areas including:  Foundations for workshop practice  Health and Safety at Work -Basic tool handling skill - Vehicle Engine System - Lubrication System - Fuel System - Vehicle Electrical System - Braking Systems - Steering Systems - Suspension Systems. The programme is consistent with the Foundation Learning Framework, 


We provide placements options for students for one or two days per week 
Start time: 9.45am
Finish time: 3.45pm
Cost for one day placement per term 
£1,300 + £32.50 accreditation fee


Programmes 


Schools Programme: Basic motor maintenance and personal development

Evening Programme: A club-like provision where participants work on both motorcycles and cars.

On Your Wheels: A breakfast club designed and build healthy rapport between students and reduce the incidents of truancy.

Youth Diversion Programme: Designed for young people at risk of offending.

Pre CBT Course: Designed to educate young people about safety and motorcycle riding.

Off Road Motor Cycle Events: Away from their every day environment this programme is designed to provide on the road safe riding skills.


The IMP programme delivery timetable is broadly coterminous with that of local schools. The Winter Programme commences on January 8 2011. The Summer Programme however starts on 1st May 2011.

While most programmes are delivered in house, the out reach service takes the service out into the community to schools, colleges, theatres, and community centers.
